I bought this game back in 1999 for the original Playstation because it was severely discounted. You know, like when a game isn't doing to well sales-wise the store drops the price a lot. It was called Intelligent Qube and I didn't like it at all. I bought a football game at the same time that I couldn't tell you the name of right now but I played it all day and night (along with Tekken 3, wooo!)

Anyhow, Intelligent Qube got stuffed in my not-so-great video games drawer and there it sat for a few months until the football game got boring. When I finally learned how to actually play Intelligent Qube I was addicted! It was a very difficult game to play and super fun. I never really mastered Intelligent Qube and it got lost in moving from California to Minnesota somewhere so I never beat the game. On top of that I forgot the name of it!

I recently started digging around the internet and remembered the title! And then quickly saw that it is a very rare game and very expensive. Lame. I'm going to start saving some pennies and try to pick the thing up on eBay (should be about $80 for a new one.) Then I can finish what I started damn near ten years ago!

The Original NES is arguably the most collectible video game console around. The NES was extremely popular in the late 80's/early 90's.

The Nintendo Entertainment System offered classic games like Super Mario Brothers, Double Dragon, Mike Tyson's Punchout and many more classics. My personal favorite was always Super Mario Brothers 3. Talk about entertaining! I could turn it now on my own NES and have hours of fun!

The original NES did have it's problems with hardware however. Anyone that owned one for long enough would have had trouble loading games and the controllers were also an issue.

Fortunately, eBay is around now to offer replacement parts that are in perfectly good shape. And for a system that is so collectible, it's possible to find cheap Nintendo Entertainment System consoles and accessories listed on eBay. Many of these Nintendo Consoles have been restored to working order. Look to pick up Contra or Mike Tyson's Punchout and take yourself back to the good old days of the Original NES!

Pictured left is an extremely well preserved G1 Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime should be the first target for any G1 Transformers collector. Thankfully Optimus Prime is fairly easy to find in eBay listings so tracking one down is not difficult.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, rivals of the evil Decepticons. Optimus is depicted in the cartoon series of the Transformers as being a gentle giant, always willing to help the people of Earth and Stand for justice. Optimus was a hero to many loyal Transformers fans and continues to be the most poplular of Transformers to this day.

With so much popularity, Optimus Prime was one of the better selling G1 Transformers in it's day. This makes Optimus much more common than you would think and keeps the price of an original Optimus Prime reasonable.

One thing that is more appealing to me about collecting vintage Thundercats action figures is that there is no where near the amount of demand for these items as there is for other classic cartoon action figures, so you can generally pick them up a lot cheaper.

Scanning through a quick search on eBay for vintage Thundercats shows a fairly low amount of searches and also doesn't list anything higher than $150. Not that $150 isn't a lot, just that other vintage toy searches can show prices much higher, sometimes as much as $1000 for some mint condition toys.

Vintage Thundercats Lion-O

I collect vintage toys because I am a fan of vintage toys, so I'm not so concerned that there is not as much value to these toys. I remember watching Thundercats on a 13" black and white analog dial television with the volume all the way down so as not to wake Grandma. That's love! I was a big fan of Lion-O and the other Thundercats but I could never afford the toys. Now the price seems just right.

Master of the Universe action figures are not a huge rarity by themselves but when they are in mint, unsealed condition a MOTU toy can fetch hundreds of dollars. I used to have several He-man toys as a kid but I never bothered leaving them in their original packaging and I'm sure most of you didn't either. That makes for a rare toy. Combine that with a popular series of cartoons in He-man and you have yourself a low supply with a high demand my friends. That's right, expensive.

Mint He-man MOTU Figure

I'm not a collector of Mint Masters of the Universe action figures myself but I do know some collcectors and have witnessed first hand how lucrative a business it can be. Collectors don't just spend big bucks and keep these action figures, they sometimes find great deals and turn around and make huge profits with these figures. Imagine going to a yard sale and finding a sealed mint Faker figure from 1982 for ten cents! After working for two hours to remove the stupid yard sale sticker without damaging the antique cardboard you list the toy on eBay and sell it for $500! That happens to those diligent enough to put the effort in to look around.

Finding the Star Wars LEGO set that contains LEGO Jango Fett is incredibly difficult. I get to see tons of Star Wars LEGOs and minifigures on a daily basis scrolling through eBay auctions and LEGO sites, but I have only seen this set in person once.

I can't say I understand much why the legions of Star Wars LEGO fans enjoy LEGO Jango Fett as much as they do other than that it is so difficult to come across this minifigure. The LEGO Jango Fett's Slave I 7153 is a fairly rare find so this might be part of the reason.

Jango Fett's Slave I

LEGO Jango Fett is only included in this particular LEGO set. This set also includes LEGO Jango Fett's son, Boba Fett. The ship included is one of the cooler Star Wars ships, even in the actual movies. It has a tendency to break in a few places but other than that it makes a great display piece.

LEGO Jango Fett is a bounty hunter and, in particular scene he is depicted in with this LEGO set, he happens to still have his head. He was decapitated in later movies. His son, Boba Fett, is actually a clone of Jango Fett. LEGO Jango Fett has a helmet in the Slave I LEGO Set and also a detachable hair piece.

So I keep up with the eBay auctions. I'm a big vintage toy dork so let's just get over that part right now.

I came across an auction today for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lamp that had an initial starting bid set at fifty bucks. That's right dollars, not cents. I am of the opinion that that is an insane pricetag for a lamp that probably cost $3.00 when it was first released. I mean come on, I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles geek when they first came out, but a lamp was not high on my list of things I was aching to get my hands on. The Party Van, yes. Beebop and/or Rocksteady, absolutely. But a lamp? Does it relocate my vintage TMNT toys to dimension-X? No. Does it stop Shredder in his tracks? Doubtful.

It lights up a room. And none to brightely judging by the picture.

Don't get me wrong, if the price was right I would be all over it. Buck fifty plus a seven dollar shipping and handling charge and I might be lighting up the garage with a vintage TMNT lamp. But fifty smackers? No thanks.
