Pictured left is an extremely well preserved G1 Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime should be the first target for any G1 Transformers collector. Thankfully Optimus Prime is fairly easy to find in eBay listings so tracking one down is not difficult.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, rivals of the evil Decepticons. Optimus is depicted in the cartoon series of the Transformers as being a gentle giant, always willing to help the people of Earth and Stand for justice. Optimus was a hero to many loyal Transformers fans and continues to be the most poplular of Transformers to this day.

With so much popularity, Optimus Prime was one of the better selling G1 Transformers in it's day. This makes Optimus much more common than you would think and keeps the price of an original Optimus Prime reasonable.

Check out this feed of the most up to date eBay listings for G1 Optimus Prime action figures.

G1 Transformers continue to demand a premium from collectors and sellers. Transformers from the 80's are just so much better than the new releases since then. Maybe it's because they were designed in the 80's. Or maybe it's because the original Transformers cartoon was so successful that the original figures just take us back. Either way it's clear that demand for these vintage action figures is only going to increase so we need to find better ways of finding G1 Transformers in mint condition. Of course you could always go with Transformers 2 toys, but it is up to you!

Mint Vintage Transformers

To help myself to easily find these mint condition G1 Transformer action figures, I have set up a RSS Feed that pulls up the best current eBay auctions for G1 Transformers. This list filters out non relavent auctions so that I only see the best G1 Transformers that are not way overpriced. Finding the latest G1 Transformers as they become available is much easier than you think! Simply subscribe the this RSS feed usig your favorite RSS reader and get daily updates on only the best vintage G1 Transformers. G1 Transformers will only continue to rise in demand with the release of the Transformers movies. With the rise in vintage Transformer prices it makes sense to buy now if you plan on owning a certain Transformers figure. Waiting because you think the prices may go down is a bad idea. Heck just look at the prices being fetched for Fortress Maximus. Those prices would not have been seen even 5 years ago. If you plan on buying at some point, the time is now.

What can you say? The Holy Grail of Generation 1 Transformers, Fortress Maximus is as rare a find as it gets in vintage toy collecting. A complete, mint, in the box G1 Fortress Maximus would fetch well over a thousand dolllars in an eBay auction (I have seen it happen.)

Fortress Maximus

Finding a complete Fortress Maximus is difficult because of a couple of reasons. The first is the price the original Fortress Maximus commanded. At $89.95 this toy was well out of reach of your average consumer for the time. Hell it would be out of reach for todays average shopper. Another reason it's so hard to find a complete Fortress Maximus is that there are so many parts! Keeping track over the years of all of those parts and pieces is tough so for a complete set to have survived this long would take effort on the part of the owner.
